Well, surgery has been schedule for June 4th...Whoo Hoo!!! At the beginning I was very nervous but I feel very confident now. UC takes too much in our lives! So is time to get rid of the things that you don’t need and don’t work! I have to admit that some times there are very good positive postings here in this forum! But some other times it really makes you think if having a surgery with a J-Pouch is the right decision...but at the end you know that some times there is no way out but surgery!!! I guess that every body reacts in different ways!! I just hope with all my heart that everyone in this forum never had any problems of any kind after the surgery!!! So at this point I will take the journey that many of you have taken and hope for the best out of my body!!! Wish me luck and keep me in your prayers.

Thanks

Carlos Smiler

Carlos,

This is a support site and just like other support sites you will find people here who are newly out of surgery, thinking about surgery, having a tough time recovering from surgery, or dealing with problems since surgery. Most people who are doing well are out living life and not on the board. Chances are you will do fine but if not you know there is a place to go get answers. I wish you well with your upcoming surgery and recovery and do let us know when you get home from the big "H".

Carlos,

Good luck with your surgery. You are right that there are a lot of bad experiences here in these boards, but don't let that get you down. I have read many posts here and my wife and I decided to go ahead with the surgery. We have a GREAT surgeon, Dr. Sack @ UCLA, and have been happy with our decision so far. Rachel had her takedown 3 days ago and we are expecting the Doc to come in and discharge us anytime now. Just remember to keep your chin up and come here for answers and support. It also helps to come here and see others' multiple problems and, assuming you don't have them, count your blessings that you don't. Once again, GOOD LUCK!!!
