I don't mind the scars on my abdomen but the weird bulges bother me. My stomach just looks deformed. Deformed might not be the right word because it's not THAT bad. But I just want to know if situps will ever correct that look or is plastic surgery the only way.

where the surgeon stitched up my stoma hole it is quite flat compaired to the other side of my stomach. It looks kind of lop sided, its not to noticable but Im trying to go to the gym more to see if I can even it out.

I have the same thing...looks like I have some rocks(boulders)in my stomache.
Wonder if a rolling pin might be helpful Wink
Hope you all have a butt burn free day

Mine is still swollen from recent surgery and will be for some time but it is slowly returning to the 'baby butt' shape that it used to have from the other surgeries. I was doing crunches and the like but I don't think there is anyway to get it totally back to 'normal' looking without having surgery or some kind of insane personal trainer. After all the issues I've had, I would never want surgery to correct it.

I don't care, I'm still wearing the bikini to the beach and telling em' I was attacked by ninjas. Big Grin

I have the exact same problem, bulges where stoma was , looks like a softball hanging from my stomach, plus lumps over my belly button and off to the sides, almost like a valley. and it looks like my intestants are bulging out..well I saw my surgeon who said I had hernias plus detatched flesh. I was told it has to be fixed with surgery by both him my normal surgeon plus a plastic surgeon to recreate my abdomin.
I'm going to ask for six pack abs, well maybe a small keg. anyway I'll keep you posted after this surgery.
good luck

My take down was 6 months ago and the bulge is 98 percent gone. I do 200 crunches every day along with other abdominal excersises. I do not have a "six-pac" yet but I do have a lot of definition. I eat "flat belly" foods thru the week, save Sundays.(sometimes trying to combine "flat belly" foods with "j-pouch friendly" foods takes some planning)

I hit the gym everyday and my bulge is still there (J-Pouch surgery 8/1/06). I think surgery may be the only answer...

Justin, like Sherlock, I have an insission hernia which has to be corrected surgically. Being 61 years old and overweight my stomach muscles are weak. Tou should have it checked out.

My stomach doesn't look normal but after time it seems to look less weird. I had incision hernia's repaired and mesh installed across my whole abdoman. At first it really distressed me seeing all the bumps twist and scars, but I think back of having the bag hanging off me & to be able to wear jeans again! People going through wars don't suppose to look like everyone else! Scars show character!! When your feeling well all is prety nice, it is in those long valleys when we wonder if it is all worth it! God Bless! Danny

I am having a very hard time dealing with how my stomach looks and its been three years since my surgeon deformed it. I have a messy long scar along my abdomen and along it are three wider scars that look like gun shot wounds. One even goes past my pelvic region, and being a girl, that sucks. There is a big difference between what my upper stomach looks like and what my lower stomach looks like. The top is normal and small and the bottom bulges out and looks disgusting. I'm also having a very hard time with the drastic weight change I've been through. While I was sick I weighed 87 pounds and now I weigh 140. I know I am at a healthy weight now and theres no way I want to go back to being that skinny and sick, but it still messes with my head every time I look in the mirror. I feel huge and disgusting.
