As promised,here is my update!!

Just got back from CC last night, after my attempted pouch removal and perm ileo formation.
unfortunately my surgeon could not free my pouch from the sacrum wall without possibly damaging all my nerves and causing further damage,so he formed a loop ileo and kept the pouch in [but disconnected] The surgeon also reported I had several adhesions and fistulas and an unrepairable leak. In the hosp I had to have a small portion of staples an stitches removed to drain some fluid build up,also my bowel stopped working three days after surg and was very slow in waking again, extreme pain, but I am now home, Thank God!! I hope everyone is doing well !! Ed

Ed,

I'm so sorry to hear that things did not go as planned in Cleveland. It sounds like you had a really rough time. I hope your recovery is swift and sure from this point on.

I'm heading to Cleveland Clinic myself for a pouch/fistula repair in a few months, so I really feel for you.

Wow Ed - you do things the hard way, don't you. Now what happens? I'm assuming they're going to do something else since you have a loop ileo, right?

I hope things progress for the good real fast.

Hi Kathy,I think they want to wait a year and retry to free up and remove the pouch, they will also convert the loop to an end at that time,I just want it to be overwith!!

Hi Ed,

I am also sad to hear that you are still having to face more surgery. However, waiting a year might be a good thing because it will give you a chance to gain some strength back and hopefully be able to heal a lot quicker next time.

I hope you feel better soon.

Take care.
