Went to the 20th anniverary of M&m`s Meat shop annual charity barbaque for the Crohns and Colitis Foundation of Canada with my 13 yr old daughter last weekend May 10th.It also happened to be her birthday so before she headed out with her freinds I asked her if she wanted to come with me for a burger and a drink. We got there and I was very disappointed at the lack of people there.Counting me and my daughter there were maybe 6 people in line waiting to pay for their burers.Actually it was a cash donation for the C.C.F.A of $2.50 Canadian for a buger, bag of chips and a peach drink. It made me realize just how little people know about Crohns and U/C.I just wish these diseases were more well known so that more money would be spent to find a cure so future souls wouldn`t have to suffer from the humiliation and pain and suffering of these diseases like we all have. I know what you mean. I'm an avid NY Mets fan and was thrilled last year that they had a Chrons and Colitis Awareness day at the ball park. Of course I just had to go to that game. I was dissapointed that there was no mention of chrons or colitis or information booths at the game. THere is another awareness day in September, I am not sure if it is worth buying tickets.

I hear yas, I'm up in Nova Scotia Canada and there was almost NOBODY around. Barely anybody except the dedicated volunteers. Now, I should mention it was piss-pouring raining that day (I believe it actually snowed later that night)... but still, it was disappointing to see so few contributors and supporters. I'd have thought us East-Coasters would be a bit tougher than that.

Yes their is definitely not enough awareness about IBD, but near GTA there were plenty of people out in Thornhill. It was at promenade mall, which is fairly busy mall and its a semi-jewish area and we are prone to this disease... so the turnout has to do with a lot of factors...
