Sudden new restrictions to dietGo ![]() | New ![]() | Find ![]() | Notify ![]() | Tools ![]() | Reply ![]()
Hi. Previously since my operation I could eat anything but ginger and Starbucks coffee. Now I have had to cut out onions, tomatoes, and garlic. If I eat these things i feel like I have pochistis for a day or two with burning bowel movements and an increase in frequency. I did have bouts of pouchistis in the fall and I am breast feeding so Maybe this is due to hormones? Any thoughts?

You just mentioned some of my favorite foods! Guess I'm lucky I have no problems with them. Am wondering if you'll outgrow this sensitivity to them. Hope so! Best wishes! C.E.M.

The hormones could definitely have something to do with it. I notice every month when I get my period my pouch goes nuts for a couple of days. Marianne DX UC 2005 when I was 37 Tried every drug and diet....all failed Step 1- 6/25/10 (colectomy & J-pouch creation) Step 2- 10/8/10 (take down) Very pleased with my results.
