Since takedown 3 months ago I get terrible chest pains. Ive tried taking tums, malox and a whole bunch of heartburn stuff, but nothing seems to work. I went to the doc and she gave me pantaloc which was also prescribed when i had an ulcer its supposed to settle the stomach acid. It was working for a while, but it now seems like even if i take it i can still end up with really bad chest pain.
Would this have anything to do with the surgery? The doc said that if it continues i might need a scope done, what would they check for with a scope? Thanks |

Hi Ash,
They would probably do an upper endoscopy to check your gallbladder or to see if there were any ulcers in your stomach. I've had this done a few times for different reasons. My first one showed that I have gastritis. The pain is the same as you described. If it does show somthing like gastritis they will probably put you on a long term proton pump inhibitor such as Lansoprazole. I think you should ask your doctor to schedule a gastroscopy so that he can get to the bottom of what's causing your pain. Good luck and keep us posted. One glass of red wine per day is good for the heart..... it's just that mine's a big heart so I need a very big glass!!!! D-| Cheers! |
