I know what a stricture sp? is but does it hurt or is it a painless procedure or what do I expect if I end up having this done having a few more tests but they may end up dilated me I guess they call it . thanks in advance.
STEP 1 SEPT 20 2006 STEP2 MARCH 14 2007 UC JULY 16 2003 hernia scar revision and more march 22nd 2008 end up being step 1 all over again resections . may 10th infection in wound had to have surgey to open me back up sept 10th perma ostemy SO much for step2 |

Jeff, I was dilated just once, about 3 months after my surgery. He did it in the office just before a quick scope. I wasn't expecting it, and it hurt, but just for a few minutes, and luckily, I have never needed it again.
If they know you have a stricture, they usually do it under sedation. Those that have had it done that way, have not really had any problems after the dilation. Mine was found on a routine examination. I'm sure there will be more responses soon. Good Luck, janna |
