Does any one drink these? I rarely drink pop but I really love a cold beer on a hot summer day. It just seems I really pay a price. Does this reduce over time?

I drink plenty of cabonated beverages. Love them. I also drink a lot of gatorade to get my electrolytes and take electrolyte tablets to make up for drinking beverages that don't have them. I can occasionally drink those vodka coolers and capitan and cokes. I never drink hard liquors that are not mixed with something. I do it mostly just to reintroduce them into my system for when I'd like to relax and have drink. As long as I only have one I am good. Goes to my head quick so I don't do it very often.

I just want my system to accept drinks for those special times when I want to kick back. I love all pop as it makes my tummy feel good. For some reason that works for me. I don't like restrictions so I just keep things moderate.

If I eat a lot while having a drink I don't sufffer. Have fun do things in moderation and enjoy life.

I drink some soda without problems, but I'm not a beer drinker at all. I would advise that if you do drink soda, make certain that you're drinking plenty of water too, as we tend to get dehydrated rather quickly and soda doesn't really help much with fluid intake.

I avoided carbonated drinks with my bag, but drink them no probs with my pouch. Probably explains the weight gain!! But I drank Guinness with my bag, trying to build up strength. It's full of vitamins and iron (and folic acid I think). It's good stuff anyway.

I drink seltzer with my ostomy and I drank it all the time with my pouch. It doesn't bother me at all. Some people are able to drink beer with the pouch without a problem, I think it's one of those things where we all react differently. Hope it gets better for you.

I drink soda with my bag and really don't have a problem. It is interesting how different things affect each of us!

I get bad gas pains from anything carbonated. Which doesn't mean I don't drink them, but I pay for it. I had vodka lemonades over the 4th, boy did I pay for that!!!! Frowner

Have had a poouch for two years now. Have just returned from a weeks holiday in Northern Cyprus, had more than my fair share of the local brew 'Efes' followed up by copious amounts of Vodka and lemonade, no problems whatsoever. Didn't even have to take any loperamide. Also had a brilliant holiday into the bargain.

I am right at the 2 year mark. I am noticing my pouch reacting differently with foods/drinks that formerly were not a problem - it is weird. I am noticing also more dehydration issues when drinking certain beverages and excercise.

I think it is funny that all from the midwest call it pop and everyone else refers to soda.

Yes Msarf, it does get better over time. Of course, it helps to drink in moderation, and to not mix drinking (i.e. liqour and beer ). I personaly prefer to pour beer into a glass to get some of the phizz out... the less gas I have to pass, and the less bloating I have to deal with. It's best to eat a meal first though.. drinking on an empty stomach is not a good idea.

As far as soda pop, I can't offer much of any suggestion as I don't drink that stuff.

Good luck.. it does get better Smiler

Johnny
