I recieved a copy of notes between my consultant and my surgeon ...discussing results of an mri to work out why my pouch will not dilate. It showed a bleed on one of my ovaries. But the thing I don't understand is that it says 'high signal outside the pouch' what is high signal?
*Proctocolectomy w/ J-Pouch and temp ileo April '11 *Takedown 23rd Feb '12. Pouch didn't work resulting in intestine tearing at join = emergency op 1st Mar '12 to give me temp end ileo.

Basically, inflammation, I think. The high signal, means high signal uptake- inflammation draws more signal than "quiet" tissue. At least, that is my interpretation. However, different types of tissue pull the signal more than others, and I am not sure that the high signal outside the pouch meant one thing or another. What you should really focus on is the interpretation/impression.
