Do you have a fever? Did you catch a bug? If not, then I would call your doctor.
When I started throwing up at day 7 they did a ct scan and diagnosed me with a blood clot in the liver and malabsorption. I had been appearing to do well before that.

Throwing up. Crampy. Do you have output into your bag? You don't have a blockage do you? Can't move around? Why not? Are your muscles cramping up? Could you be dehydrated? I'd get on the liquids (liquids with electrolytes like mineral broths, vitalyte, gatorade, etc.). If things are that bad I'd put a call into your doctors and speak to whoever is on call.

no output in the bag, but i think that's due to me still not eating very much plus i've been throwing up. looks like i'm gonna go to the er tonight just to be safe...

No output? Staight to the ER, or at least call the doc!
There will ALWAYS be some amount of output even if you don't eat as gastric juices will still go thru the system. That said, output usually increases when people don't eat just due to no absorption of the gastric fluids.
Either way...If I were in your shoes, I would be heading for the hospital. It sounds like you may have a blockage.
2 weeks post-op, even a few days post-op you really shoudl not be throwing up..

Hi, I am day 12 after step 1. Been having a rough time also. I developed a blockage and it sounds like you might have also. Are you having strong pain in your belly? If there is no output I would suggest you go get checked out. I ate food for just one day and got a blockage. They put a ng tube down my throat and a small catheter in my stoma to keep it open. When my blockage began I had crazy pain and then started vomiting a lot.

I'm new to all of this so I dont' have any advice. I just hate hearing clindh and jeffrey are not doing well.
I'm scheduled for the first surgery in a few weeks and wanted to know what to expect. From what I'm reading it doesn't sound like anything I discussed with the doctor.
But if anyone has any information they would like to share, please pass long.

Clindh. I hope all is well with you and that you have gotten the attention you need. Keep us informed.

Susie - This is a complex surgery and can lead to some painful complications, but typically the complications are rare, and when they do occur, they don't last a long time. I had a blockage about two weeks after surgery and went through the whole routine - Pain, Nausia, Emergency Room, NG tube and 4 nights in the hospital. However, no further issues.
I had the takedown 9 weeks after the first surgery and started working out and running harder and faster than I have been able to do in years. Use this website to get answers to your questions and to get encouragement from people who have gone through some of your struggles with UC and surgery.
The vast majority of people who have j-pouch surgery do not have significant complications. They heal and move on with their lives and their new freedom. Some of those people log into this site to help out the new members. Keep reading and investigating and don't hesitate to ask questions. Dave

Susiedw....I had absolutely no issues after Step 1. I loved having "the bag" because I felt so great and could eat and drink everything (and did!). I kept the baggie for a year by choice! My surgeon teases me about that to this day....8 years later! So....don't concern yourself about what you read here. Most of us don't write about the smooth ride we had! Best wishes!

Susie I had 3 surgerys will no complications. I did throw up once after my final surgery but my dr said it was just getting things moving again not to be alarmed. I am 2 and a half months past takedown and haven't felt this good in years!! Unlike CeCe I HATED my bag and couldn't wait to get rid of it. That was my biggest problem was getting my bags to hold. Keep with us here we will help ya thru this. Everyone here has been great all the information they have is awsome!! If you wonder about it someone on here has usually been thru it. Goodluck! I hope You went to the er clindh that sure doesn't sound normal from what I went thru.

A few weeks after my step 1 surgery I was hospitalized for dehydration. I was throwing up, was crampy, weak, and had a hard time breathing. Hope you are feeling better!
