I have been told that by a couple of doctors as well. I've used the patch but it's like always having a band aid on and you get that sticky ring around it. Plus, my skin got irriated every time. I highly recommend the ring. It's so easy and I don't have to worry about it not being absorbed. I also don't have to worry anymore about having a blockage and missing doses of the pill. When I have a blockage I can't take the pill and get it to stay down. The only thing that I would be concerned about in your situation if I'm remembering some of your previous posts, is the pain that might be associated with inserting the ring. It doesn't bother me but if you've had pains with exams and whatnot, you may want to go with the patch. Hope this helps.

I looked into the patch, but I read that it really ups your risk of blood clots, so I didn't go for it. I don't know anything about the ring, but IUDs totally creep me out. I stopped the pill back in May, and I am currently on the hunt for a bc method. I'll have to check with my ob/gyn at my next appointment and see what she suggests.

Have you though about the shot, Depo? It lasts for 3 months and most people that can tolerate it don't have a period at all...

I used spermicidal jelly or suppositories as my only method of birth control for about 10 years until I had my tubal ligation (after 10 years on the pill). Worked like a charm. All methods are pretty good, as long as you use them correctly. Nothing is 100% effective. Jan
Take a deep breath and relax; this too will pass.

I know everyone is different but I had major problems with the depo shot. I was bleeding constantly for three months and so my doctor had to put me on the pill in addition to the shot to try to regulate the bleeding. Talk about a lot of hormones pumping through! I was a little hesitant about the ring at first but the doctor let me "try it out" in the doctor's office to see if I had any trouble. It has since made my life so much easier.
