Hate to admit I don't know what "benzos" are!

Are you talking about benzodiazepines? Is this something you needed before surgery, or for some new symptoms? Are you having side effects or some other issue?

My GI doc just thinks that after the take down a benzo might help calm possible rattled nerves. His words were Yoga, tai chi and zanax or adavan. I figured I would get the script but only use it if I was really bad off with anxiety. In the mean time prepare myself physically , emotionally and spiritually.

Seems odd to do a preemptive strike, so to speak, unless you have a history of panic attacks.

But, if you are worried about an effect on your j-pouch, don't.
