So i know this is a really stupid question. My friend asked me it the other day while i was complaining about having to go to the washroom.
She said "why dont you just buy butt plug" obviously joking we both had a good laugh.
After though I did wonder if this at all would be a solution and would work? I have no intention on trying this out, but hypothetically speaking...would this stop a leakage? I imagine it may be uncomfortable and may not create a full seal. But i am curious....anyone? Roll Eyes

I would recommend against it because it could cause dilation and weakness of the rectal sphincters, ultimately potentially causing more leakage. For those who don't know about these, they are designed to be worn for sex play or for longer periods for getting accustomed to anal intercourse.

So, not a stupid question.

Take a deep breath and relax; this too will pass.

My doctor has me using a medical anal dilator every day to try to help my anastamosis stay open. It hurts really bad when I am trying to push it as far as possible and I can't get it far enough.
I just had a dilitation that was horrendously painful two and a half weeks ago and already I can tell it had narrowed significantly.
I am supposed to have it dilated again Sept 5 but I am thinking that if the stenosis didn't even stay open this long, why keep doing it?
I am very frustrated and sad.
I had my JPouch surgeries a year and 1/2 ago.
Can anybody relate or have any ideas?
Thanks for listening.

ewwww!
Lori

As far as multiple dilations, that's pretty common. They can try steroid injection, but I don't know how successful it is. You might ask about being dilated under sedation. I've had all of mine done that way.

Thanks for responding.
My last diliation WAS SUPPOSED to be under sedation but due to an allergic reaction to Demerol I felt all the pain and remember it well!
How many dilitations is average? I know everyone is different.
By the way, GO GATORS, I saw that you live in Ocala!
Thanks
