Hey there! Just curious about a couple of things.. as I mentioned in my previous message..I'm going into my second surgery on Wednesday (jpouch creation and hopefully takedown at same time)I'm just wondering, should I start using calmoseptine as soon as I start going to the bathroom? and has anybody out there tried bio-k probiotics? I just bought some and thought I would start taking them now as a preventative measure.. any advice??
Thanks much!!!
Cheers!
Wendy---very nervouse...but very excited!!

Hi,
Yes, I'd slather on the cream ASAP after the takedown. I was raw during the first few days after TD (but elated because everything went so much better than I'd expected).
All the best of luck!

dioing things preventatively is never a bad idea. I started using barrier creams right away and had already been taking acidophilus/bifidus for months and I've also eaten yogurt every day for years. I had a pretty smooth recovery in terms of frequency and butt burn (although yesterday I sorely discovered that any kind of pineapple-blened juice is NOT a good diea for me). Anyways I think my preventative steps really played a role in my recovery. Except for on the occassional bad day my frequency is never more that 6 times a day and I'm only a little over 2 months post-op.

Good luck with your surgery!!
