a fever while on Cipro....?|

The ER doc was surprized that I had a fever and elevated WBC while on 1000mg of Cipro per day. This happen to anyone else????

Yes, it has happened to me as well, in my pre-surgery days after my third time on Cipro: I was in Honduras and met Montezuma up close and personally. The theory was that I had somehow developed a resistance to the Cipro and it pretty much didn't work on infections in me. Another antibiotic took care of the issue with no problems.
I recently read an article (I can't remember where, sorry) which mentioned that this (resistance to Cipro) happens more often than we think. Something to do with over-prescription of antibiotics in general and Cipro in specific for diarrhea which is not necessarily bacterially caused. TMI probably...
