How long has it taken for you all to get the swelling down from your first step? I am three weeks out and most of it has gone away. However, there still seems to be a little bit arond my lower mid-section.

Zap, I just have to laugh....you must be the most energetic, up-and-running and impatient newly-operated person I've ever come across! Every time I read your posts I'm amazed at how well you're recovering after your surgery. Big Grin I was swollen for AGES but then I was also wiped out after step 1 and nowhere near as fit and healthy as you sound. Some swelling three weeks after step 1 is pretty normal, I'd say. If you can bring yourself to do it, try to be patient!! Keep enjoying yourself - you're an inspiration Smiler

Thanks Soph,

Nah, I'm not THAT impatient (though i'll give you a little on that score Cool). I'm good with letting things take as long as they do. It's just that I haven't felt this good since before the UC days. I just got a hernia-belt made especially for ostomates for things like running (which I won't try for another 3 weeks or so) and it didn't fit my usual measurements, so I was just wondering if I needed to return it for a larger size. But, if the swelling is still going to go down then I don't have to. I get really excited now just planning my future without UC. For example, my aunt asked me if I wanted to go to the movies this weekend with her and my cousing and without hesitation I said "yes" which is something I never would have done in the UC days. Good stuff!

Smiler

At your stage of this "game" I was literally falling asleep in my soup! You are amazing! Imagine how wonderful you will feel after your takedown! Congratulations!
