After dinner, I'm constantly running to the bathroom, and nothing (or very little) comes out. No gas either. It feels a little like the urgeny/cramping I had when I had a colon. The weird part is that it's only happening at night. (6-10PM) I'm at work all day and I don't have any problems. I do take one chewable immodium at about 7:00AM. I recently started chewing one more immodium before dinner, but it's not managing this urge.
Anyone have similar problem or a solution? Thanks, Jody |

Maybe it's the imodium. Try taking it in the morning or not at all and see what happens.

I always take the immodium in the AM and I do great all day. I'm hesitant to change that, because it seems to be working for me. It's after dinner that sucks!!! What if I want to go out to dinner or god forbid, a movie!!

Hi Jody, I had the same problem and sometimes still do. The Dr.was baffled when I told hin it only happens in the evening. Someone told me it was common early on after TD.Mine seemed to get better when I started VSL#3.
When was your TD? Just curious. Craig |

My take down was in November of '04. Over two years ago! I do remember feeling worse in the evening immediately following my take down and than it must have improved because I haven't had this problem for the past two years!
If I had pochitis or something I would assume I'd have urgency and cramping all day and night. Right? ...or wrong? |

Hi Jody, I would think you would have it all the time if it was pouchitis, this is why my Dr. was so confused. I even started skipping evening meals and still had the same problem.
Sorry don't know what to tell you, but I know how you feel. If you figure it out let me know! Craig |

I get something similar to what you described in the late afternoon and right after dinner. It is always worse if I have NOT eaten for a long time....once my dinner finally gets to my intestines things settle down. Now I try not to skip lunch and I make sure I have a snack with some substance to it in the mid afternoon. It seems to work as long as I remember to keep food in my system. I hope you feel better.
