Has anyone still experienced trouble using the restroom even the day after a stricture dialation? I had a dialation done yesterday, and I have eaten two meals plus many ounces of fluids. I have only gone very little. I still feel continuous pressure on my rectum, too. I actually feel worse now than before the procedure. Any advice would be appreciated greatly. Thanks.

Oh no...that doesn't sound good. I'd give the doc who did it a call. I think I have to be dialated very soon. How was it? Were you good to go as soon as you woke up?
BTW...where the heck is New Glarus? Have a fabulous day! UC...1985 Step one...Aug '06, Takedown...Dec '06 Emergency SBO Surgery...Oct '07 Jan '08 Bartholin gland removed, kidney stint placed Oct '08 diagnosed w/ Crohns Nov '08 Seton drain placed |

Actually, I had a lot of trouble waking up from sedation. The procedure was over at 5 PM. I could not stay awake until 11:30 PM. He used a new med which I cannot remember the name of.
New Glarus is in the southeastern, almost south central, Wisconsin. It is 25 miles south of Madison. |

You may just have some pain and swelling from the dilation that could be causing this. Give it a few days and, if it is, it should settle down.

Thanks. I don't know why I didn't even think of swelling. I bet that is what it is. Swelling around my rectum would make a feeling of pressure. I just hope it goes away soon. Thanks again.
