Kathy, Janna, Truly, Bill, Dave, Eric, Jan, Jill, Kerri/Karyn, Stell and everyone I've forgotten to mention....HOW THE HECK ARE YOU? I've missed you all!!

I decided to pop in today to see if I recognized any names and saw that Eric had posted and a ton of wonderful memories flooded me.

I'm doing well and so is my family. My kids are 19 and 16...can you believe it? My daughter is at college in Boston and my son is a sophomore in high school. We did have a rough patch beginning on September 7, 07 when I was diagnosed with breast cancer. But, to make a long story short, I'm done most of my treatments and cancer free as of last Tuesday. Although I feel like I've climbed Mount Everest, the end result was worth it.

How are all of you? I'd love to hear all about everything! Have you had any get togethers? Babies? Grands? When you all have some time, fill me in! Do any of you ever go to chat anymore?

Love, hugs and huge smootches!!

Laurie (aka colonless) XXOO

Hi Laurie, sorry about your diagnosis, but glad things are under control.

Not much different for me other than one boy graduated college- 23 and the other still "dabbling"- 21. Both are still home...

Woohoo Laurie!!! Great to hear from you! So sorry about your diagnosis but if anyone can climb Everest it is you!
I am doing very good, still have that darn "temp" LOL ostomy for 8 years but feel really good and enjoying life. My kids are 17, she is driving God help us all, 14 and 9.
Gotta run but good to hear from you!

Hi Jan!

I can't believe your boys are both old enough to be out of COLLEGE. Where has the time gone?

It's nice to see your name all over the site. You're an angel to so many Jan and thankfully, you never stop!

Hey Kar!!!

I'm so glad that you're doing well. How's your husband? Is his UC under control? Your kids are getting so old, too. It's mind-blowing, isn't it?

Thanks for responding girls...it's great to hear from you!

Laurie

Thanks for asking Laurie, I forgot you guys were there when Kevin went through that hell. His UC is very under control, since his 30 day hospital stay geez like 5 years ago he has been in remission. He is on 6-mp and asacol and has regular colonoscopies which just show very little inflamation.
I am flashing back to how awfully ironic that was, and how much you guys here calmed me...

My hubby Steve also has UC, which is confined to the left side for about 8 years now. He stays pretty much in remission with Asacol and occasional hydrocortisone enemas. Unfortunately, spicy foods now bother him, and he loved spicy food. He has to watch the popcorn and nuts too.

No sign of it in either son [yet].

Hi, Laurie,

Wow, you got a double whammy. Glad things are OK now.

I love an opportunity to brag. Thomas, who was barely 9 at surgery time, is now 17 and 6'2". He's had kind of a double whammy, too. Beginning in 2001 he developed chronic sinus problems and since has had three sinus surgeries, the most recent and extensive of which was a year ago. He would have been a high school junior right now, but left school last year after having too many absences and getting no help from the school district. He passed the state's high school proficiency exam last summer and is now attending the local junior college, where the classes and schedule suit him much better. Last semester he made the president's honor roll.

I'm still illustrating chidren's books--am currently on #8, with #9 starting immediately after.

Hi Laurie,
No, I'm not offended you forgot me. It's good to her from you.
I've since moved from MA to NC chasing a job. Doing okay, hope you are as well.

LAURIE!!!!!! I am so happy to see you here. I'm so sorry about what you've been going through. I feel bad I wasn't there for you, like you were for me. Seeing you here today brings back such memories for me....some not so good, but alot of happy, funny ones.

Preston had a baby boy...can you believe that??? I am so happy for them.

My kids are all doing well, all graduated from college. My younger daughter got engaged for christmas, and will be getting married in January. So, we are busy planning a wedding. How fast time goes.

Judy and I are in chat almost every night after 9:00, we would love to see you if you get a few minutes.

Keep in touch.....

Laurie!!!! Well, it's damn time you got your behind back here. You've been away way too long. And lookie there - even Jerry and Budstud popped in just for you. It's old home day. Or maybe it's just that some of us are old.

I'm not telling how old my children are since, as you know, I had them when I was in utero. Amazing, isn't it?

Preston had a baby boy? And there are no photos? How very wrong is that? I'll bet he's a big cutie!

So sorry you had to go through a breast cancer thing. And I'm so glad all is well now!

Every once and a while I think of your photos at Judy's at the EC pouch party. Even in the photos you looked so.... what's the word I'm looking for here..... help me out.... hmmmm.... TWISTED? Yeah, that's it!

Keep your face around, hear?

Oh, BTW - Bill has a new granddaughter. Named after him! Billie. She's adorable. So he's now Big Daddy Granddaddy.

Big hugs to you!!!!

kathy Big Grin

LAURIE!!!!!!It's so good to see you again. Since we last spoke we have sold the old homestead and bought a 3 bedroom ranch in upstate NY.We have a sassy new grand daughter Aubrey Marcella. She will be two in August. Our little live wire J.D. turned 13 in January. It is so great we live only a mile away so he is here more than at home.
My health is great. I've have no problems at all. I'm a diabetic now but that isn't really a big issue either. Fran had Quadruple bypass 3 years ago but is doing just fine now.
I'm so sorry to hear you had to go through having cancer. I'm so happy you are ok now.
It would be great if you stopped by chat one night, we really do have a lot to catch up on.
By the way BUDMAN is still older than dirt and no matter what he says he is older than me.

hope to see you in chat.

Judy
