Anyone know if one or the other is more effective / pure? Or is it an individual kinda thing?

I've used VSL a lot in the past, and had success with it, but it is rather expensive. And their Reimbursement Assistance program was useless for me. Twice they kinda "forgot" about me after my GI and I filled out all the paperwork for them to help get me insurance approval.

I'd give FloraQ a try. It's once a day. It's still around a dollar a day, but that's a lot less than the others. Or you could try the cheaper to more expensive route. I used Jarrow EPS with success. I have been on antibiotics for so long now that I haven't taken any probiotics in the last 2 years or so. When I begin again I will probably try Jarrow again. I think it's about 50c a day. I use many Jarrow products though, so I'm biased probably. Most of them have different strains, so if I had the money, I'd take a little of each. Emphasis on the IF.

Everyone's system is different though. You just have to try them and see.

Culturelle has lots of good bacteria. Rated as one of the best outside VSL.

From Dr. Weil's Web site...

You also can waste money on acidophilus products that do not contain viable organisms (check expiration dates) or strains that will survive passage through the strong acid in the stomach. [/B] The best products on the market contain a new strain, Lactobacillus GG that has been shown to get into the intestinal tract when you swallow it. One brand to look for is Culturelle (www.culturelle.com).

Out of interest, does Culturelle have any research indicating whether it can sustain remission (i.e. along the lines of the research backing-up VSL)?
