Is it safe to get vaccinated while on these meds?? My daughter is heading off to college in the fall and the school highly recommends the meningitis vaccine. She has been on steroids for about 5 months and is now also on Imuran (Azasan)? Anyone have any experience with this? Thanks

Yes, as long as it is not live virus. Actually, she needs the vaccines more than if she was not in Imuran.

I don't think so, but all she needs to do is ask the nurse and she'll know. There are very few vaccines that use live virus now. I know the Flumist nasal spray flu vaccine is live virus.
