Both of my girls are on a competitive dance team. These competition last all day usually for 2-3 days at a time. I think it takes a toll on the average person - but these marathon dance days just about kill me. By the end of the night I am a zombie and it takes me several days to recover. First of all I am not doing much - just changing hair and costumes and hanging out. Why am I so exhausted. Is it the long day or does it have something to do with the "new" me. I am almost 2 years post take down. I am also starting to find myself tired in the late afternoon - what gives?

Lora, As someone who did dance recitals before jpouch, i think it is a combination. I just had my 2 girls do a total of four dances throughout the recital and I wanted to hang myself. I think the biggest difference is to keep hydrated. I know my dance recital experiences keep me very dehydrated. Also it is a very long day between makeup, hair, dance, etc but our positions definately don't help. good luck just remember how great they look when they are up there...

How long has it been since you had bloodwork done? It can take a few years for B-12 deficiency (average 3-4 years) to show up. You may be anemic.

Take a deep breath and relax; this too will pass.

I know that I am not anemic but get fatigued in intervals. I am finding that the farther away I am from my colectomy, the more frequent the tired spells are.

Thanks guys. I have a follow up with my family Dr. in July. I will see if he will run a blood test. I have noticed being a lot more tired lately - so we will see. Interesting Jan, that it takes a couple of years for the b-12 deficiency to catch up with you.
