Sorry there are so many of you who are in constant pain. Sarah, if that's your photo to the left of your posts, you look young and lovely to me. I hope all of you feel better physically and emotionally soon.

Sherry, I have a helper. My little parrot, Tyler, has learned to say 'You go walk now?' Over and over until I say yes and go walk.

The past few days It's been harder to get up and move. I don't have that extra oomph because I haven't been taking the pain meds as much and it's been pouring rain.. who wants to walk in that.

I hope you can get yourself up to walk but I understand if you can't. I basically stayed in bed for 4 or 5 months waiting for this surgery, I am SO out of shape. Even after nearly 3 weeks of all this walking I am still out of breath afterwards.

Have you been to your doctor to see whats going on or are you stuck with doctors that can't/won't help like my previous ones? I hope you are able to feel better soon...

- Sarah

Sarah, thanks again for all your input.I am currently burnt out on going to doctors.I was hospitalized 3/3/08 for non specific rectal bleeding and was assigned three new doctorsof which I have followed up with since. One disappeared...the other two are clueless. There just may not be an answer.I live day to day but when the next day comes I am just as crummy or worse. With the better weather here and longer days I intend to try to due more..I just need that BIG PUSH...it is so much nicer to stay in bed.I have not given up yet...just taking a break and always open to suggestions.

To all "THANKS"

Sherry

Sometimes the most important thing you can do for oneself is to stop and just go...Not far, that can make oneself come back miserable. If you can get a chair from the backyard and put it out in front of the house. As the neighbors come home from work or on a Sat. when people are out cutting their grass or whatever. Conversation is what stimulates the brain instead of the nerves transmitting pain data it will be conversation and the sense of well being when talking to others.
When I talk of the viscious circle of pain, bed and all that's the circle...Laying there doing nothing, almost obsessing about myself or worse yet ignoring myself...I know what I'm SUPPOSED to do.... Should/ would / and could....The three most disturbing words for some people that deal everyday with disabilities and depression...Actually just about any thing that seems to stop you from doing what you want to do...I don't know if that makes sense. If anyone has a better way of putting it.. Be my guest!

Julie, thanks for the support.I do get out once in a while with different support groups. As soon as someone(and they always do) asks how are you doing the whole atmosphere changes. So most of the time I just reply "improving". No one really wants to hear the truth. Then an hour passes and I'm off to the restroom, come back...how are you doing,again...another hour off to the restroom again...so what seems to be the pattern here is I'm not asked to join in much because they can see it is such an effort for me. I will try the chair this summer. Maybe someone will walk by and I'll say "Nice Day" and I'll see how it goes. Good suggestions...Thank You.

Sherry

Hi Sarah,

I know I read somewhere you mentioned one of your birds was sick - sorry to hear that along with all else. I thought this story would make you smile about a bird who found his way home by knowing his address:
