Okay, this is different. For the last couple of months now, I have had this tender feeling--almost like a bruise just below my rib cage --where the two meet--in the middle. It was on and off now for a couple of months, but more constant. I should say my bm's are regular. Adhesions? Abcess? Nothing to be concerned about? I get on this sight and end up thinking I am going back in for surgery..and dooms all over again.....Sue

Hi Sue. It is probably nothing to be concerned about, but I would ask your doctor to take a look and have him/her feel around under your rib cage. Remember, a lot of people who visit this site have problems. Most folks don't have problems and they don't visit this site telling everyone how great things are. Take care!
Sorry I'm late on this. I have the same feeling, but only on my left side. I feel it more anytime my core muscles are tight. I talked to my doc and physical therapist about it and the best we can determine is that its a minor cramp which is related to some scar tissue that I have on that side of my body. Definitely nothing to worry about in my case, of course I agree you should have your doc look at it but I'm pretty sure you're not in for any new medical drama because of this. Hope that helped.

I get extreme tenderness where you mention in the middle below my ribs which is from acid irritation from my stomach. Since all the medication and stress that can come from all our problems and the fact that we've got GI problems it may match up?
I take Omeprazole (Losec) which damps down this feeling.
Sometimes the acid (indigestion) gets so bad I have to be sick.
Maybe it's just something like this and you can take an antacid?
Hope that's all it is
