I have been "using" my jpouch for almost 2 years and since the time of my initial surgery (over 2 years) I have NOT experienced abdominal pain. Today was the first time. I was afraid so I called my doc and he said it sounded like a hernia because I told him it was by my stoma incision and I could literally feel and see a lumb. It did go down and the pain went away but I have a part time job now where I frequently lift some heavy crates. Does this mean it will be an end to that job??

Not an end to your job, but you probably should wear an abdominal support if you are lifting heavy things, at least until you get this repaired. You don't want it to get worse.

Take a deep breath and relax; this too will pass.

hope you get it repaired soon. It has been a long month waiting to get mine fixed - had to jump through workmans comp hoops to get it done.
I am getting it fixed weds.

Just so you know I was lifting very heavy weight for several months with an incisional hernia. It never caused me any problems but I eventually got it repaired when I blew out both hamstrings and couldn't go to the gym for a while anyway.
