I was wondering if people who have a J-pouch and eat dinner later at night have more frequency and wake up more often during the night.

Hi Ben,
In my experience, yep. If I eat late at night I´ll wake up more often, but actually I think WHAT I eat has an ever greater impact. I love spicy food, I love a glass of red wine. But boy oh boy do I pay afterwards.

Nope. I find I am pretty consistent: 6-8 hours during the day to pass food on out. Usually about 10 hours before dinner makes its way out. So, if I go to bed around 10 pm, take an immodium, and eat a small dinner - I am usually up once around 4 am. If I eat a lot I am usually up again around 5:30.

Now, of course, if I were to eat spicy, hot nachos or something before bed I'm sure I would have a bit more sleep disturbance :-)

I find that eating a large lunch and a smaller dinner works best for me. It usually takes 3-6 hours for the food to fully digest, so I try not to eat too close to bedtime. For example, yesterday, I atea big lunch and a small dinner and did not wake up at all last night.

The day before I had a big dinner at 8:00pm and woke up twice at night.

Seems like we are all different

I find if I eat an early dinner, say around 5pm, my night is better. Sharon O.

I think it is a very individual thing.

I have slept great since my takedown. I sleep right through the night without a problem, no matter when or what I eat in the evenings.

I just ate a bowl of ice cream, and I am going to bed in about 10 minutes. Smiler
