I know we see so many postings on butt burn, but here stil is another question. I still am having major problems in the evenings, I take 6-8 immodium a day, very careful on my diet drink lot of fluids & take a proibotic. Still major evening problems from 6PM on. I have major diahrea starting at around 6Pm, which leads to butt burn by 7-8Pm.Even after the diahrea stops I have major butt burn, & small spasms(?) in rectum area. I have tried every cream over the conunter & RX of Lidocaine. Last night I was up til 1:30 AM in & out of a hot bathtub which offers some releif, but only while in there. The most intesnse pain up in the rectum area comes on when I lay down in my bed seems burning sensation up in my rectum & some very light spasms on & off. To the point no way can I sleep. I am starting to get a little depressed. After 3 months post TD I would like to have some social night life, very hard to when I am in & out of bathroom all night. My days are good thank goodness, since I am at work all day. I have tried taking the immodium at different times, still at night things fall apart. My only day time issues are thes lound growls in my stomach area, wonder what can be causing that, gas? Any ideas/suggestions on my night time challenges?

Texasgal, I was just thinking about you today and wondering how you were doing! I'm sorry you're struggling with BB. I hope someone will be able to give you good advice. I don't have much experience with it, but I think some people have said that their BB was actually a yeast infection. You can get acidophilus supps and also canesten supps - maybe you could check with your doc (or Jan?) whether you could use these in the rectum to combat a possible yeast infection there? Get well soon! ps: The growling probably is gas. Have you tried drinking herbal tea like fennel, peppermint or chamomile? Of course there's stuff in the US like Beano too...
