So tomorrow is my big day and it has finally arrived. It seems as if these last two months have flown by. As I am so ready to get rid of the bag and give my pouch a shot, it sure has been a nice few months of not having to think about where the closest bathrooms are and having a life again. Well hope to report back to you as soon as I can..

I also have a question? How long will it be before I can take a bath after shower? I have heard everyone talking about taking baths to help with the butt burn but since my doctor is not closing up my stoma scar I wondered if that would effect if I could get in water. Thanks guys.

I'm assuming you can take a bath even with an open wound if the bath water isn't high enough to reach it. We had a poster here - Emily/Roxanne - who would use her bathroom sink to sit in when she had bagel butt as she called it. It was a nice round swollen burning butt bagel attached to her rear end.

Good luck and we'll see you on the other side of pouchdom.

Hello everyone. I had my takedown on Monday and am doing really well. I am still in the hospital but things have gone quite smoothly. I just wish my bowels had waken up a little earlier, because my doctor started my on some clear liquids again last night and I have really started to swell up. As for the takedown, it was a little more than I expected. I was extremely sore after the procedure but I have bounced back quite quickly. Yay for being young. Hope everyone who is considering surgery takes a strong look at it. I know I just got through it but I am already feeling amazing. Thanks to all for your kind support along the way.
