Has anyone brought this in a carry on while flying? My tube is larger then the 3 oz. allowed by the guidelines. I usually keep it in my purse. Perhaps I should transfer some to smaller container, just for the flight, and put the large tube in my suitcase.

It's also sold in a small tube (2.5 oz).

Good question Cataja! I think they are sold in the smaller tubes. But, if you are checking luggage anyways, I would just dose up beforehand and check it.
On a seperate note - I wouldn't recommend putting it in the same drawer with your toothpaste at the hotel or wherever you'll be staying. I made this mistake and one groggy morning I confused the tube with toothpaste and it didn't taste so well. Yuck, yuck, yuck!!!! Rick ---------------------------------- KAAAAAABOOOOOOOOOOOOM!! |

Dear Rick,

It also comes in 3.5 gram disposable packets. I found this out because my buddy asked me what I wanted for my birthday, and since I figured it would be best to ask for something I could really use....I asked for Calmoseptine ointment. She got me 12 jars and a box of the 3.5 gram packets (144 count). (I only asked for one jar, by the way.) Only a true friend will buy you butt cream...in bulk!!

I travel with Calmoseptine 4 oz. tubes frequently (couple times a month several months a year). I put it in a plastic bag along with other medications/ointments. I've been stopped and hassled several times. I carry a copy of the NTA instructions which are contradictory about the 4 oz. / 3 oz. limit, and very politely, with a large smile, I explain that my life isn't easy and they can make it much easier if they just let me through. No one has taken my Calmoseptine yet. I carry two extra tubes in my suitcase, just in case. But with travel being the way it is (I've been stuck in airports many times for long delays and had to spent two overnights without my luggage), I'd be too paranoid with the stuff in my carry on.

They make small packets, you may want to go the manufactures web site and see if they'll give you some samples.

I did have a brand new tube taken and I nearly burst into tears I was so distraught at them taking something from me I didn't want to fly without...emotions after surgery always run high. Make sure it is under that limit and don't count on someone being understanding to your condition. If a doctor will write it out as a prescription all the better.
