hi, what foods do you no longer eat now that you have your j-pouch? do you miss any?
(maybe this info is already somewhere here?...too many posts! SmilerSmiler

I am now able to eat chocolate (and anything)! But I read some people with j-pouch have problem with too much sugar (butt burn, pouchitis),... and stopped eating a lot of different foods??

thanks,

Alot of people talk about sugar but that is not an issue for me. I can't have anything with fiber in it at all. Also oregano gives me the worst BB you can imagine. I stay away from citrus as well.

I haven't had any issues with anything much at all.

I gave up drinking caffeine and quit all forms of nicotine (irregardless of my having a J Pouch).

I am mindful of certain foods that don't necessarily always agree with me, but, I don't think it has anything to do with my J pouch. It's just my body not liking something.......it was that way before my Pouch.

You'll find out on your own what affects you, what might affect you and what will affect you. We're all different in that department. What affects one, may not affect another.

One thing I do though, chew, chew, chew and drink, drink, drink............that helps ALOT. Smiler

for me it is not sugar which is good because to me chocolate is a food group unto itself.

for me it seems to be salt maybe because the foods that I have problems with are shrimp and ham (of course 2 of my favorite foods). I also have an issue with some salt water fish. that is why I think it is the salt maybe.

Just my 2 cents,

We are all soooooo different! I crave salt. I never did before this surgery! Now, I can't get enough salt. Actually, I am very lucky. Six years since takedown and I can eat/drink everything. My only problem is that keeping my weight in tow is a constant challenge.
