I had dehydration issues after my takedown. Also had trouble eating. Regarding the sports drinks, my doctor recommended Propel. Lots less sugar than Gatorade and Vitawater.

Good luck-things get better.

I have also had dehydration problems. I have found that Smartwater helps. Water + electrolytes, no sugars. It works.

I too spent a total 29 days in the hospital since March 1st with dehydration issues. My doctor said to drink Propel - I'm now addicted to Lemon Propel and Kiwi strawberry. Usually I diluted it with water. I also found that the faster I drank fluids the quicker they came out of my body. After struggling to maintain my fluids, the doctor placed me on home IV. It has made a world of difference.
I sincerely hope you feel better soon.

My worst problem with dehydration occurred about two weeks after released from the hospital following takedown. I caught a stomach bug and had a hard time eating or drinking anything for several days.

A lady my wife works with recommended Pedialite, which was news to me. I ended up drinking several of these while I had that bug. I think it kept me out of the hospital.

From time to time, the nighttime leg/feet cramps are horrible! I keep a bottle of tonic water with quinine by my bed and it does work, but...I'd love to be able to drink something which would help me from having the problem in the first place. Frequently, when these cramps come on, I feel as though I'm going to pass out from the pain before the quinine kicks in....usually about three minutes. The longest three minutes in my life! So.;..this weekend it is off to REI. Hopefully, it doesn't contain sugar or there is a sugar-free option!
