Good News about my abcesses......I think

Ok I am the crazy poster about abcesses as they r driving me crazy Im on my third one in 4 weeks

The good news (it seems) is that it is NOT Chrons like the surgeon thought just the worse case of inflammation with some ulceration he has seen I am going to ask for pics and yes gross out some of you and post (sorry but i think it helps us all learn)

More good news(ish) is that i have a parasite, lots of nasty bacterial growth, with a nice healping of yeast in my pouch. I got the parasite when I went to Africa in April, I had diahrea when i came home but so did hubby so just chalked it up to traveling in general and took probiotics and a bland diet cleared it up Over the course of the last several months i wuold get bouts of bad diahrrea but always thought it was something i ate and started having problems emptying but i had no pain and life is busy and i just dont like going to docs. To sum it all up since I tried to take care of this on my own I now have a nasty cocktail brewing in my pouch which seems to b causing all the abcesses (only one has a fitulae which has a short track that connects nowhere) So to get rid of this i will have Rocefren(sp) shots for 7 days in a row, flagyl, an antiparasitic and a cocktail of probiotics

Thank u to everyone who has responded to my previous posts This site is a wonderful resource

I am so happy to hear that! I mean you know, not happy but compared to what it could have been i am happy for you. I would love to see picts! It wouldn't gross me out at all, if you have to PM me when you get them up. I hope you don't think i am crazy but i have always been very interested it medical stuff and am not easily grossed out. Let me know personally when they are up Smiler Danielle

Thanks I know its like woohoo good news it could b so much worse however it still stinks in the process (no pun intended) Dr said I should probably not go to school this semester as stress could make it worse Im still thinking on that. I will pm u if they give me the pics. I also have a deep interest in the medical field. For me being 10 with UC i grew up with hearing and researching medical stuff so it a very comfortable area I am praying that your procedures go well and that your ordeal can come to an end

You really should listen when your doctor says stress can make it worse, it does. Through the 2 years i have been going through this i have noticed that when i am more stressed it does get worse. I had my son in may of 2008. I felt blesses but let me just say that he was a terror, i could not believe what i had done. On top of having my son and not having any sleep or sanity my fiance and i were trying to afford a 2 bedroom apartment and new baby when he was only making $13.00 an hour and i am the one who handles all the finances. The only thing he worries about is going to work everyday (not saying he is not stressed himself, i know with what's going on with me and now we bought a house and he is the only income coming in to the house he has the weight of the world on his shoulders, but he is the best man and father in the world and he is a dying breed of man who works and takes care of his family no matter what) but i have had to worry about what's going to get paid or what isn't, if we are going to eat or not, make sure baby has everything he needs, ect.... To get to the point, this all started about 3 months after my son was born and has not stopped since! I am proof that stress makes it worse, so please listen to your doctor and do everything and anything to destress your life right now. Hope and pray for the best for you.

Thank u for your advice. I am a bit stubborn but after reading your input I think I will listen to the dr. I really dont want to have to deal with this any longer than necessary and since my stubborness got me into this I need to make sure it doesnt keep me here. THANK U
