Hi

I had a scope on Thursday afternoon. It's now 23.44 on Sat.
(I'm in Ireland) I am still suffering with major cramping.

I had no cramping before the scope.

It's like pouchitis cramps where you feel the desperate urge to go to relieve the cramps.
But I don't have pouchitis just finished a 12 day flagyl course last week and fail to see how I didn't have it before the scope and now I do. SO I'm thinking it's the scope.

I also off food. I did double up my steroid dose in case it was an Addisonian crisis - reaction to scope which did resolve the other issues I was having.

Has anyone else suffered bad cramping for so long after scope. I am usually fine the next day.

I don't know what to say...I have'nt had that problem either. I would asume it would be left over trapped air/gas, but assuming things can be dangerous...Why don't ya just call the doc on call and see what they have to say. It may put your mind at ease..
Hope you feel better!
Julie

One of the reasons they do not scope indiscriminately is because it is not without risk. Endoscopy is a type of trauma and can cause symptoms of trauma. If you develop a fever or bleeding, you may want to be seen in the ER, otherwise, it can wait until Monday. You are doing the right things.

Take a deep breath and relax; this too will pass.

Thanks Jan Big Grin

I had never really considered it to be a type of trauma before. But I was always luck when I had them. Also its been nearly 10 years since my last one so I a lot older not as easy to bounce back.

I did have a temp but pretty sure that was adrenal s. As went when I doubled my steroid dose.

Rough Night up every 2 hrs.
