in every thread about gas, the consensus has been that we are all too scared to try and fart standing up.

my question is, has ANYONE ever accomplished this great feat?

has anyone mastered this talent doing it regularly?

if i know it is possible to do it, i want to begin practicing...

Yes, I have farted standing up. It just happens sometimes. I dont even feeling it coming. Which can be sort of embarrassing at times. It is weird it kind of just happened recently. i just farted standing up. How recent did you have you surgery? Maybe you jsut need some more time.

Oh, dear god. I walked in to work kind of tired and sluggish, and what a headline to see first thing in the morning. I'm still laughing.....

i had my takedown almost 2 years ago but have never had the confidence to try and pass gas standing up.

Highroller - is it something you are able to do confidently and consistently? i think i can cut down bm's significantly if i could learn to fart standing up.

There is definitely a lucky few who can manage it. Personally, I have only ever managed it lying down.

Huh, why don't you try it in the shower? If you feel some gas coming along go hop in the shower and see if you can let it out. If there is some leakage then it just washes away. If not then you know that you at least have some control. Either way you get showery clean!

Don't have a j pouch yet, but this is how I plan to do it.

As you're well-aware, women don't "fart." But I have never had a problem emitting fluffies while standing, sitting, reclining or in any other position. And of course, being a female, there is absolutely no odor.

I am fresh from takedown but I am happy to report that I can fart while laying down. Too scared to fart standing up LOL

Yes.....I have done them all...Standing, walking, sitting down and laying down...but not always successful without a surprise!!!

This is hilarious! And very timely for me! Having not passed gas for 7 years (since surgeries), I just started to learn how while I'm lying on my bed. (Normally it only happens on the toilet - sounds like a volcano!!) Now I have so much gas from being pregnant that I decided to try to push it out a little bit. I've had a few that were not so clean, but I think I've learned when to push and when not to.

It's been great and actually last night I let one out and it made a huge sound. My husband gave me a high 5!

I'm hoping that one day I can have gas while standing and sitting. I never thought I'd want to have it but I hate it when you get gas in your belly and then you can't release it so it goes back in and makes you all bloated and uncomfortable.

Who knew passing gas would be something I'd hope to accomplish!!

wow, so many people can do it? i didnt think it was physically possible. this gives me great confidence.

Wow! Now that you mention it. I don't think that I have, partly because I'm afraid to try it. I have no problem when I'm horizontal.

I'll let you know when I'm successful.
