He everybody, I thought I'd post an update. It's been almost 5 weeks since my takedown. I average 6-7 BMs per day with usually none during the night. It's been like that since I got home from the hospital so I'm very lucky in that respect. BB is managable with calmoseptine (I love that stuff). Sometimes the BB gets pretty bad, but for the most part I can handle it. I really work on holding my BMs as long as I can. It really gets tough sometimes, in which case, I give in and go. I have been out of the house several times over the last two weeks, and I even went to a movie yesterday! I've tried both immodium and lomotil but I can't really tell which one works best during the day yet. Immodium definitely works best at night. Even though I don't have BMs during the night, I still wake up at least twice during the night with very minor urges (I guess I'm afraid I'll have an accident). My appetite is pretty good now; however, I guess I'll never eat as much as I did before the first surgery in august of last year. Back then I weighed 230 lbs., and now I weigh about 200 lbs. Overall, I feel very good. I hope each and everyone of you are doing well too.

Wow, just like a poster-boy!! I am sure that we all would have liked a recovery like yours. I imagine not having IBD helps in that respect. But, nobody gets out of the inconveniences and a bit of the butt burn. Sounds like you are coping very well and things should do nothing but improve.
Jan Take a deep breath and relax; this too will pass. |

That's great jason. The bb should get better as time goes on. When I first had surgery, I ran at every sensation, it took awhile, but I realized I could hold it for a long time. Pretty soon, you'll stop waking at those minor urges, and you'll sleep through the night. I'm so glad you're doing so well.
