My husband has his takedown surgery on Tuesday!!! He is very excited, and nervous about it. I have been looking around, but was just curious if anyone had any advice for a quick recovery? Anything we should remember or know going in, anything we should remember to bring? I know the obvious, walk like crazy. Anything else??! Thanks a lot for any help and for good thoughts on Tuesday!

Woohoo...how exciting! I truly hope all goes well...and as far as advice...someone posted "official" news that chewing gum helps wake up the intestines after surgery, a good probiotic to keep a good balance of intestinal flora, and limit sugary/spicy foods. Sending good healing vibes your way!!

Josh's surgery took a bit longer than anticipated, but, he's ok.

Apparently his ostomy/small bowel had grown a bit with the muscle at/near the ostomy site.

He's on liquid/IV and waiting on him to pass gas to allow solid foods.

He walked twice in 4 hours after he got into his room after leaving recovery.

Just thought I'd give y'all a little update.
