Thats what my 11 Y/O son had. He had a colonoscopy done and his GI couldn't finish due to how bad his colitis was. So he was admitted and steroids and remicade was tryed but shortly after his abd was distended he was very lethargic so they took him in for emergency surgery and found out his colon was toxic megacolon. So Fulment colitis is the worst colitis you can have

I think "fulminant" is not so much a type of disease as it is a description of the disease's behavior that means "sudden and severe." A number of diseases can be fulminant.

I had sudden and severe Colitis. I was hospitalized and diagnoised Feb 24, 1998 and less then three weeks later had my colon removed.
I have had a very successful 10 years with no colon! |
