I have been up all night. It started around 9:00 I got a lot of gas but it would not come out. (I have an ostomy) I went to bed and it just got worse. It got to the point where I could not even lay down. Then I started throwing up. I've thrown up 2 times and I still feel nausous. The gas is still there. You can hear it but there is NO air going into the bag. I hurt so bad. Can anyone help me please!?

Do you have any output at all? You are nauseated with severe stomach pain and throwing up. Sounds like you have an obstruction and since you've been throwing up you need to go to the ER. At the very least they'll give you fluids to keep you from becoming dehydrated and pain meds. I say, Go. Saturday mornings are usually pretty slow.

I hope you get some relief soon.

An obstruction is a blockage of contents in the bowel. It could just be gas pains. What have you eaten lately, milk...?
If you are passing waste, that is at least a good sign. I would stop eating foods, and drink some warm tea/coffee and just drink liquids until it passes..... unless you feel like you really need the ER and definitely go if you think it's necessary.
I hope you are feeling better soon Smiler

I had sort of the same problem this week, but mine was from a Capsule endoscopy. The capsule (camera) was lodged somewhere causing an obstruction. My out put slowed but didn't stop. I continued to drink grape juice and hot liquids and ate soft foods like puddings until it finally passed 2 days later.
If this continues too long you may want to call your GI or go to the ER especially if you continue to Vomit.
Good luck and best wishes, Craig

I didn't go to the ER. I laid on my left side and that seemed to help things along. I am still not getting as much gas as I usually do in the bag. I ate cheetos yesterday and I am wondering if that is what did it. Right now I am drinking gatorade and decided I will stick to soft foods for the rest of today just to be safe. Thanks for all of the replies.
