I believe I noticed as my stricture got worse it was harder for me to pass gas even laying down. But for me I can't pass gas standing up anyways. I know I've asked question similar to this before but basically no many people can pass gas standing up with the J-pouch, atleast they can't without getting some new pants on afterwards.

With a recent anal dilation, anal stricture cannot be the issue. It could be a stricture high in the pouch or above the pouch, but your doctor would not be able to feel it with a digital exam. A scope or barium enema, or small bowel follow through would likely show it. Gas can get trapped along with stool behind a stricture. Jan
Take a deep breath and relax; this too will pass.
