LoraH,
If you are abusing benzodiazepines (ie xanax) with alcohol you should check yourself into a treatment program right away. These are both CNS depressants and combining them can be fatal. You cannot beat this on your own and need professional help to get off these substances. How the combination of these substances might effect your j-pouch? Well I think you need to worry about your liver, kidneys and potential brain damage first. |

Thanks for your concern - I have already detoxed. I was just worried about any damage I might have done.

Hi Lora...
I'm so sorry to hear this. It happens all to easily I think. Before I stopped drinking (after my last surgery) I really liked a drink or two with my vicoden. Luckily, now I'm off liquor and pretty much off Vicoden. I have only had two in the last two weeks. My doc switched me to fentynol patches for pain. I can't drink at all with them. Hopefully you didn't do too much damage. Were you on the xanax for surgery related anxiety? Have a fabulous day!
