Hello everyone

I was told by the manufactures of VSL3 in the US that it is now available to purchase from pharmacies in the UK. I live in north london.

But, I cant find it anywhere, and I am REALLY desperate. Im suffering with the worst UC flare in a long time and this seems to be my only remaining option.

Has anyone here managed to find it?

Many thanks

Hi KSU,

You might want to give the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford a ring and ask to be put through to their Hospital Pharmacy. I took part in trials that Professor Nichols (my GI) and my surgeon Professor Neil Mortensen at the John Radcliffe set up a few years ago and that is where I had to get my supplies from. It wasn't always convenient for me because I live in Jersey and had to fly over for my appointments and to collect the VSL#3. Although you may not be able to get it directly from them they should have the contact details so that you can order some yourself.

I have to say though that although VSL#3 was great for keeping my pouchitis in remission (once I'd attained that with antibiotics) it did nothing to get a flare under control. With that in mind I can't really see how you are going to get your UC under control by using it, but I know how you feel about trying everything possible to get into remission.

Good luck. Smiler
