I just had to do a public post to thank Bill aka Six Million $ Sphincter, for his help in finding a great doc. I also wanted to share the news with anyone who may be in Eastern PA, Del or South Jersey. I saw Dr. Stephen Silver today and I was blown away. Only 1 doc in 3 years has done a rectal on me much less a scope without anesthesia - and it almost cost him his life because of the pain. Not only was Dr. Silver able to do a rectal but he was able to get a scope far enough in to see my pouch and rule out pouchitis. (Very strange things we discuss here and stranger yet the things we get excited about??????) Anyway, I could kiss this guy. His whole manner and concern were great but he also gets the fact that we people with pouches are different and that it is his job to help us adapt to the new us. I cannot say enough good things about this guy. If you are not happy with your current doc, just starting out in the search for a surgeon or need a 2nd opinion, this is THE GUY to see. Aside from the accolades from Bill and me, his credentials are great in that he trained at the Cleveland Clinic.

Once again Bill, thanks for the great info!

Great news. Am I to understand that Dr. Silver performed a digital exam and scope without anesthesia on you and lived to tell about it?

Take a deep breath and relax; this too will pass.

Great to hear you liked him. As I said to you, I cannot say enough good things about him. He has taken great care of me. Not just a great Surgeon, a great person too.

I hope he can get you fixed up!
