Does anyone know how many bacteria are in the pill form(in each (1) pill) of VSL #3. The bottle says 225 billion per serving but there is no serving amount given...only a suggested use of 2-8 pills a day. Also the sachets VSL #3 ds say 900 billion per sachet and that you can take 1-4 packets a day. Does that mean you can take as many as 360 billion of the bacteria a day?

Correction: one trillion four hundred forty billion a day not 360 billion.

I just went to the vsl#3 site and this is what it says about capsules: "VSL#3® Capsules contain 225 billion live bacteria per serving (serving = 2 capsules." A word of caution though, many people get stomach discomfort at first, so I'd work your way up slowly. My daughter has been taking this since her takedown and at first, she took on packet per day, and has moved to every other day. I'm not sure where I read it, but I recall that probiotics remain in the gut for 3 days or so (don't quote me..not sure about that number), so she has found that every other day keeps her healthy. But she's been taking it for over a year.
