I don't think I need to be worried, but I thought I'd ask anyway. I've had a terrible cold for a few days. I had a fever, sore throat, head congestion. I started taking Comtrex (it mainly contains acetaminophen)to relieve some of the symptoms on Thursday night. I stopped taking yesterday morning when I noticed blood in my stool. I have had a pouch for 2 years now and have never seen blood in my stool. I wasn't going to take any more medicine until the blood was gone, but just broke down and took sudafeed because my head is going to explode and I want to enjoy New Years Eve. I have no pouchitis systems and I do have VSL#3 a few times a week. Has anyone experienced cold medicine leading to some blood in their stool?

Probably was just a coincidence. As long as it is not excessive or persistent, I wouldn't worry about it. It is probably more likely that it was related to your virus, than the treatment.

Take a deep breath and relax; this too will pass.
