and I can't wait. After initially thinking he could do it in two steps, my surgeon decided to wait and do it in 3 steps just to be on the safe side.
My question is, with my surgery on Oct. 19th, do you think I'll be able to make my cousins wedding in St. Louis on November 16th without any problems? Dx- Ulcerative Colitis 4/28/10 Step 1- 5/5/10 Takedown- Scheduled Oct 19th 2010 |

It seems realistic however everyone is different and recovers differently. I only had a two step done so Im not sure what the 3 step involves but I know when i fly the pressure inside the cabin and can make my pouch a bit rumbly Ive had my pouch for 17 yrs I suggest talking it over with your dr Good luck

I agree with Shell, everyone heals/recovers at a different pace. I was shoe shopping 10 days post-op and back to work 4 wks after my takedown.
I flew for the time 6 wks post-op, I didn't have any issues. The only concern was luggage. I still had a lifting restriction at that point, since I was traveling alone, I had to make sure my luggage wasn't too heavy. UC Dx: 9/2008 Step 1: 7/7/2009 Step 2: 11/18/2009 Surgery was the best decision I made! |
