Ok so it happened again today. I bent over to pick something up and felt like a peed a little. when I went to the bathroom there was bloody mucous. The thing is I don't know where it is coming from. It kind of feels like it is coming from my vagina. Anyone?????

After my j-pouch surgery I had some blood and pinkish mucus discharges . My surgery was on June 6, 2007 and now I have only the mucus. I too was concerned so I either emailed my surgeon or spoke with his nurse. I do wear a light days panty liner and change it as needed. I did get a red rash down there, something similar to diaper rash because of the moisture. You may need a moisture barrier. Ask your surgeon about any suggestions.

I don't mean to state the obvious or ask a stupid question, but could it be that you're having a combination of light, heavy and irregular bleeding because you've gone through hefty surgery? My periods disappeared for several months, and when they came back, they were all over the place. One minute I'd bleed really heavily, next minute I was bone dry. Then I'd get spotting and pink mucus. It was like being pre-teen again. It's starting to stabilise now, if that's any consolation.

Thanks for the comments. I called my surgeon and his nurse said that it was probably not something they did because he spicifically wrote in my surgery notes that the jpouch staples were far away from the vagina. she said it was probably coming from my uterus and that if I was still having problems in a week call my GYN. I had an ultrasound in March and they said that they saw a cyst, so I am wondering if maybe that burst and that is what is causing this. Who knows???
