Sorry, about another bb thread.

Since takedown 10/06 I have had occasional bb, in the past two months it was happening w/a bit of regularity. I had a flex sig a few weeks ago and was dx'ed w/ mild pouchitis and cuffitis (I had rectal spasms).

Since then, I have been taking Levaquin (for pouchitis) once a day and a canasa suppository (for cuffitis) once a day as well.

Since starting these 2 weeks ago, I have not had a single moment of bb.

Has anyone experienced this when on a suppository or antibiotic? (not sure which has made the difference for this specific case, but to reiterate, nothing was prescribed for the butt burn, I went in for rectal spasms, I dont' even think I made a mention of bb to my GI.)

I have noticed that the antibiotics do seem to help some with bb. I use the canasa supp.'s when my cuffitis flares up too, and I would say it probably helps with bb also, but for me, food and drink is what really effects it. Any salty, acidic, or spicy, not just heat spice, foods really do it. Non-homemade soups and pasta sauces have a LOT of salt in them which I find bad for bb. I have a prescribed anti-inflammatory cream that I use when the bb is really bad and it helps a bit. The bottom line is when I get the pouchitis and/or cuffitis I know I eat better or safer which definately helps ease the bb, along with the meds.

oh. See, my diet hasn't changed one bit, I'm not being any more careful.

I should try raw onions again and see if I get bb, that was the only food I could specifically pin to bb.. I think hamburgers are on the menu!

Thats strange, raw onions do not bother me in the least. Which I find a bit odd actually but nonetheless I eat them quite often, especially on burgers!

I stopped my meds for 3 days while switching to a new one, so in between them I had butt burn again! I am convinced it has nothing to do w/ diet.

So the meds for pouchitis and cuffitis are leading astray the butt burn.

Has this happened to anyone else?
