I've had a vaginal rectal fistula since beginning of May. Thing has been leaking every day since then. Doc wanted me to try 6-mp for my chronic pouchitis and to close fistula but i don't want to take any more meds, specially 6-mp. My problem is, what are the symptoms for a fistula that is causing infection? I've had a severe non-stop headache for 3 straight days now, i was running 101 tempature the 2nd day and i've been nautious. Could I have a infection? Maybe it's just the flu??

Sure sounds like some kind of an infection. You better make an appointment. Remember.. you'll dehydrate easy with that fever.

When I had my R/V fistula my fever got out of control and was in the 105 range. They couldn't close it or manage it and so I had to have surgery. The fever could very well be due to the fact that you've all kinds of things passing through areas they shouldn't.
Call the doc; they may to treat the fistula with more aggression. Good luck. PM if you want more info.

Are you having any new, unusual symptoms from your vagina area? Excessive leaking, pain...?
It could be an infection coming from the fistula because they do tend to get progressively worse over time. You'll probably need some sort of medication, probably an antibiotic. I've been using flagyl, cipro, or levaquin since my fistula turned up.
