Sometimes the tubes used during anaesthia can give you a mighty sore throat, especially when swallowing. It should be improving. In the meantime, ice cream is great, milk shakes, soft cold foods will be soothing.

Yes, it was probably the intubation during surgery, or the NG tube afterwards if you had one. Sometimes you can get a little bruising or irritation/swelling from the tubes. I had an NG tube in for several days and I found it really irritated my throat, to the point that talking was uncomfortable. As Meesh mentions, make sure to take lots of liquids, jello, ice cream, and apple sauce. You should start seeing some improvement shortly.

Chlorseptic throat spray! I can not have surgery/^post op without it! comes in flavours too...just a little spray and the pain goes away... Sharon
It could be worse...oh, wait..it already has been! then I guess it can only get better from here....
