I'm having some trouble with my stool, the color is a bit pink, and I'm not sure if it's blood or not, I've had j-pouch for 7 years, there is no increase in # of bm, the only thing that I can think of is that I've been somewhat stressed and had a little bit of alcohol the other day, I also hear a grumbling in my gut from time to time and it's not cause I'm hungry. Anyone else ever have this problem? Any advice?

Dear Franky24, I canonly speak from my experience. First of all, I have had gut grumblin before and it was for 2 different reasons. I had a flu like virus one time and the other tim my pouch was totally pissed off about something I ate. I have seen the most amazing colors with my stools since having a Jpouch. Have you eaten anthing with any dyes in it? I freaked out the first time I ate red velvet cake. another time I ate a snow cone. I have never noticed alcohol changing the color of stool or making my gutgrumble. Your doctor can do a test for occult blood in the stool. That is an option for sure. Have you had stomach problem in the past? It might be something to check out. I had stomach ulcer after surgery because there was aspirin in my pain med instead of tylenol. Check base with your doc or your doc's nurse. I have also found that when my pouch is not happy if I drink buttermil it helps calm it down. If you don't like buttermil and don't think you can drink it, try dippin saltine crackers in it and eating them. Hope this helps. Let us know how things are going. Byeeeeeeee!

I saw my doc today, he said there was some inflamation at the bottom of the pouch, in the rectum and proscribed a month's worhth of suppositories. He also said that it wasnt anything serious. This is the first time I have ever had to take suppositories, any advice? Has anyone had this before? How did you deal? Anything I should be expecting or looking out for? Thanks for reply Smiler
